Pretty Beachy Centerpieces

Here are a few beachy floral centerpieces that inspire me....enjoy!

This centerpiece is uncomplicated and beautiful. The starfish adds a touch of beach while not taking over the color scheme or looking too themed.

This is my favorite center piece that I have come across. I am going to try to mimic it for my wedding. The touch of elegant sea fans are gorgeous. I was having trouble coming up with ideas for purple beachy ideas. I chose purple because the wedding will be in the fall on Cape Cod. I think this is the perfect fit! You can find seafans at Shell City. I may use roses instead of the white peonies because they are cheaper and I will definitely be adding purple hydrangeas to pull in the seaside Cape Cod theme.

This is a classic Cape Cod centerpiece. Hydrangeas are available in the Summer and the Fall and come in many colors, from white, blue, purple, green and pink. If you are a budget bride like me these are perfect. They save money because you need less of them to make a bouquet. These pretty flowers come on large bulky stems and will fit in well with a Cape Cod themed wedding!

I can't wait to try this!

I've seen these in Prince Edward Island selling for twenty dollars each for mini shells! Other bloggers have seen them sell for upwards of 1k when dipped in silver.

This guide tells you to use silver spray paint, but improvement stores also sell pewter spray paint that could give it a more vintage feel! Try it out and let me know how it works for you! I am planning on trying it in January after my large shells come in.

Tip: The Christmas Tree Shop also sells bags of large shells for $5.00 in the summer. If you can wait stop in and pick them up then. Shells can add up! And who says you have to stick with silver? The colors are endless! Hot pink shells, Yellow any way to tie in your color scheme!

When spraying the shells make sure you have newspaper or tarp under them. It would be best to spray outside because of fumes and wear a face mask. Also, scrub the shells in case they are dirty or have sand in them. Hold the spray can about a foot away from the shells to avoid dripping and let them dry. voila!

You get an expensive look for less!

Top Three Beach Wedding Tips!

I wanted nothing more to get married on the beach. It's a beautiful and natural way to get married! You may come across some Nay Sayers who aren't as adventurous as you are....but fear not. If you stick to these tips you might be able to please most.

Tip number 1!
Have a back up plan! You can't count on the weather. Most reception locations will offer to help you with a back up plan. Make sure your ceremony contract will refund you in case of bad weather.
Tip number 2:
Take into consideration grandma and grandpa, if they have walkers or wheel chairs they can't wheel in the sand. I have this issue, while I loved the idea of getting married barefoot, I decided to get married at a wildlife sanctuary overlooking the beach. I will be married with grass next to the sand, decent compromise.
Tip number 3:
If you can afford it rent a tent just in case it is too sunny. However, tents are super expensive-they can go up to 2-3k. One idea could be to offer parasols to guests if the sun is bothering them. You can find some for under 6 dollars each at the Wedding Channel Store. However look out for deals, they have black and white parasols for under $2.00 right now.
Another option is you want to keep things casual and comfortable is to include the dress code: "beach chic" to let your guests know it will be an outdoor wedding.

Congrats and feel free to e-mail me if you need any tips!
